Record Expansion Underway to Reach 1,250 Individuals, Including Veterans, and Families Struggling with Mental Illness, Addiction, Homelessness and Poverty
THE 1250 CAMPAIGN
With thousands in need of the safe havens and services we provide, Community Hope is in the midst of a historic expansion to assist more individuals and families whose lives have been disrupted by mental illness, addiction, homelessness and poverty.
This expansion includes:
Major Expansion of Supportive Services for Veteran Families:
With our veteran families program having recently expanded, we are helping veterans struggling with homelessness and poverty in one of the roughest winters in the past decade. Community Hope staff are working within 11 of NJ’s 21 counties as well as eastern PA to rapidly re-house homeless veteran families and to prevent those struggling with homelessness from being put out on the street.
Development of Phase II, Valley Brook Village:for Veterans:
Completed last September, Valley Brook Village is home this winter to 62 disabled and formerly homeless veteran households. With a waiting list evidencing the need for more permanent supportive housing for veterans, plans are underway to develop a Phase II by constructing an additional 30 to 50 units.
More Urgently-Needed Safe Havens:
Development of several supportive housing projects are either nearing completion or underway to ensure affordable housing plus services for nearly 20 individuals, including veterans, who are in recovery from mental illness and would otherwise be at risk of homelessness. The project pictuted herein was made possible through a partnership with Morris Habitat for Humanity and numerous corporate and community volunteers.
An Expanded Mission
Community Hope kicked off 2014 with an expanded mission.
Helping individuals, including veterans, and their families, overcome mental illness, addiction, homelessness and poverty by providing housing and support services.
This mission retains our 29-years of dedication to providing safe havens wherein young people and adults are continuing their recovery from bipolar disorder, depression and other mental illnesses within a supportive environment.
And reflects our expanding services, begun more than a decade ago, to help veterans and their families overcome homelessness, poverty and despair. Today,we are the largest nonprofit in and around New Jersey serving homeless veterans and veteran families. Since 1985, we have restored hope to thousands!
A New Identity
Our thanks to Havas Health’s Catapult College and the advertising agency’s adoption of Community Hope as their 2013-2014 pro bono client!
Catapult reinvigorated the Community Hope logo and has designed a brand to identify our expansive veterans programs . . . wherein we are providing Hope for Veterans, and working to save more than 1,000 veterans and families from homelessness this year.
